Admins can add formatted text on workflow tasks to provide information to the assignees. This text can be helpful in telling users what they are expected to do while completing the task. The text is displayed:

while the task is being transitioned

Task notes can only be added to single tasks. If you are editing a workflow to add
task notes and do not see the task note option, then you are looking at a task that
splits into multiple tasks using a child workflow. When this happens, go into the
identified child workflow and add the desired note to its task.
