You can create new users in the User tab of the User Management page. Once a user has been created, they need to be assigned security codes and roles for a project before they can access any documents and data. For more information, see Manage user role assignments.

  • You need to have the Business Administrator or SDx Administrator role to create users.

  • Customers using SDx deployed in Smart Cloud should use the Smart Cloud Portal to create users instead of following this procedure. For information, see Onboarding a User in the Intergraph Smart Cloud Help. Any users created using the Web Client will not have the required credentials to log in to the system.

After a user has been created in the Smart Cloud Portal, all additional user access and restrictions need to be configured in SDx as described in Configure user access.

  1. In the Business Administration feature set, select User Management.

  2. At the top of the User tab, select > Create User.

  3. Type a name and description for the new login user.

  4. Select an organization for the user.

An organization must be set for the user to assign a security code.

  5. Type the user's e-mail address in the E-mail address box.

This is used for all e-mail notifications to that user.

  6. Type the user's login name in the Logon name box.

  7. Enter the user's password in the Password box.

  8. Enter how frequently, in days, the user will have to change their password in the Days between password change box.

  9. If you want the user to reset other users' passwords without knowing the user's old password, check the User Maintenance option.

If this check box is not checked, an administrator must know the user's old password to change to a new password.

  10. Select the notification mechanism preferred.

    • These notifications are sent out by activities such as completion of batch reports and user subscription processing. For example, the user may wish to be informed when a given document is approved.

    • The notification mechanisms available are:

      • E-mail - The user receives e-mails

      • Notify - The user receives a notification in the Notifications list in the Web Client.

      • E-mail and notify

  11. In the Disciplines area, select the disciplines to assign to the user. For more information, see Configuring disciplines for a user.

  12. Select Finish to create the new user.
