  1. In the Dashboards feature set, select Create Dashboard.

  2. Type the name of the dashboard and a title. The Title is displayed in the Web Client when the dashboard is opened.

    SHARED Tip You can also enter a description to help identify this dashboard.

  3. Select the type of dashboard required.

  4. To make the dashboard available to other users, select Published. You can leave this option cleared until you have finished making your changes and select it at a later time, as described in Update a dashboard.

    The Published flag provides a quick and simple option to control whether the dashboard is available to end users without modifying the access groups.

  5. Select the template to use to layout the new dashboard.

    For a context panel dashboard, the most appropriate templates to use are indicated with a star star.

  6. Click Next to move to the next page of the wizard.

  7. Select at least one interface definition for the dashboard. This option is not applicable to home screen dashboards as they aren't related to a specific object.

  8. Select the access groups who will be able to access the dashboard.

  9. Click Finish to create the dashboard.

    SHARED Tip You can update the dashboard title and access control as described in Update a dashboard.

  10. Configure the widgets to display on the dashboard. For each widget, click , and either:

    SHARED Tip To see how each widget is created, in the Dashboards feature set, select Widgets, and click on the name of the widget to see its properties.

    Form

    Lists the asset related to the selected tag. Shows the following asset properties: Name, Description, Serial Number, Model, Manufacturer.

    Shows the selected tag details. The properties shown are: Name, Description, Safety Critical, Criticality Rating.

    Count

    Lists change requests (with the status of IN PROGRESS, OPEN, or APPROVED) which are related to the selected tag. Shows the following change request properties: Name, Description, Priority, Status.

    Shows the selected unit details. The properties shown are: Name, Description, Area.

  11. Check your widgets are returning the expected results as described in Check the status of a widget.

    SHARED Tip You can select blue-cog > Preview Page to see a preview of the dashboard. You can also preview an individual widget by hovering over it and selecting eye. When previewing widgets, they are displayed as view-only and you can't interact with them. Widgets aren't previewed if they rely on an object to be selected first.
