Problem

When you attempt to upload a large file from the client to the server using the MetaDefender AV plugin, the upload fails or performance is adversely affected.

Solution

When you upload a file to the server from the client machine, the default upload file chunk size sends the file to the server in 1 MB batches. If the file is very large and you are using the MetaDefender AV plugin, this chunking into 1MB batches can adversely affect the systems performance for loading files greater than 3Gb and the file upload may fail.

You can control the file chunk size used for uploading large files with the SDx Web Client file chunk size (MB) setting found in Server Manager. By increasing the default chunk size, you reduce the risk of large file uploads failing. For more information, see Web Client Site Settings node.

The use of this setting is dependent on the available system network speed. However, if you do not use a MetaDefender AV plugin, you can still use this setting to upload large files into HxGN SDx.
