Additional schemes can be created from the Desktop Client.

  1. Click File > New > Administration > Revision Scheme in the Desktop Client.

  2. In the New Revision Scheme dialog box, type a Name and Description for the scheme.

  3. Select a Major Sequence Type.

    Description

    Take next major revision on merge

    Set this option if a new major revision is to be created when merging a document up from a project to a plant. If the revision details of the project revision are to be retained on merge, then leave this blank.

    Config level

    The configuration level to which the revision scheme is applicable (not relevant for SDx).

    Custom Revision

    This revision scheme can be customized by the user.

    No validation is performed. This field is display-only for queries.

    Major sequence

    The major sequence value and the first part of revision scheme (normally changes when a document undergoes a major change).

    This field should be left blank for numeric sequence types.

    Major sequence type

    The major revision sequence type. Options include sequence, repeating sequence, or numeric.

    Major sequence minimum length

    Major sequence minimum length (only applicable if Major sequence type is set to numeric).

    Major sequence pad character

    The pad character for the major sequence revision code (only applicable if Major sequence type is set to numeric).

    Minor sequence type

    The minor revision sequence type. Options include sequence, repeating sequence, or numeric.

    Minor sequence

    The minor sequence value, and optional second part of revision scheme, which normally changes when a document undergoes an intermediate change and release.

    This field should be left blank for numeric sequence types.

    Minor sequence minimum length

    Minor sequence minimum length, and only applicable if Major sequence type is set to numeric.

    Minor sequence pad character

    The pad character for the minor sequence revision code, and only applicable if Minor sequence type is set to numeric.

  4. Click Finish.
