  • The PIDREPLACEBLOCK command has been improved to allow you to select the replacement block from the menu symbol file. For more information, see Replace a block.

  • CADWorx P&ID is now compatible with AutoCAD 2022.

  • CADWorx P&ID is now compatible with BricsCAD 21.

Items updated or added for CADWorx P&ID 2020 R1

  • CADWorx P&ID is now compatible with AutoCAD 2021.

  • CADWorx P&ID is now compatible with BricsCAD 20.2.

  • CADWorx P&ID can be configured to remember your database username and password. For more information, see SaveDBCredentials.

  • You can now assign a Line Function value to the properties of a polyline in order to distinguish between line types. For more information, see Poly Line Tab (Adding Item Dialog Box).

  • CADWorx P&ID now writes the block and layer information to the database when you create a component. This feature eliminates the need to use the PIDWRITEBLOCKTODB and PIDWRITELAYERTODB commands.

Items updated or added for CADWorx P&ID 2020

  • CADWorx P&ID can now apply spec changes to tag values. For more information, see SpecAssignToggle.

  • Improved the functionality of P&ID VIEW by allowing CADWorx P&ID and CADWorx Plant to use different databases.

  • CADWorx P&ID now uses Smart License for product authentication and licensing.

Items updated or added for CADWorx P&ID 2019

  • Improved process line functionality to automatically update in-line components when process line properties are changed. For more information see Process Lines Panel.

  • If project-specific menu symbol are not found, the software selects the .dwg file from the default .dat file delivered with the software.

  • Maximum column width of the component data table has now increased to 255 characters when using Microsoft Access database.

  • The Maximum number of columns supported by P&ID has increased to 255 columns. Microsoft Access database users can now fully utilize the capabilities of MS Access database.

  • Process line tags now support multiple lines of data.

  • Inheritance features have been added for instrument components. For more information see Inheritance Setup.

  • Process line inheritance features have been extended to nozzles.

  • SpecControl has a new, stricter value (2) that prevents placement of components that lack a defined program code. For more information see SpecControl, Create specification-driven drawings, or Spec Set.

Version 2019 (19.0.1) Service Pack 1

  • CADWorx P&ID is now compatible with BricsCAD 19.1.11 and newer.

Items updated or added for CADWorx P&ID 2018

  • Added the PIDUPDATEDWGFROMDB command, which allows you to update the drawing from the database. For more information, see Update the drawing from the database.

  • Enhanced the insertion of reducers. When you insert a reducer, the software provides you with an option to change the size of the line on the opposite side of the reducer. For more information, see Reducing.

  • When you insert a reducer on a line size different from the size settings in the CADWorx P&ID Setup, the software places the reducer based on the size of the line. For more information, see Reducing.

  • Enhanced the process lines when you move a corner grip. The process line moves all attaching components, the tag, and breaks the lines it crosses. The corner grip does not allow moving the line beyond an inline component.

  • CADWorx P&ID now uses a local acad.pgp file in the Support folder for the command acronyms instead of the system wide acad.pgp used previously.

Items added and updated with CADWorx P&ID Professional 2017 R1

  • You can specify whether P&ID automatically adds flow arrows to your process lines. For more information, see AutoArrow.

  • You can specify the size of the flow arrows that the software automatically adds to your process lines. For more information, see CurrentArrowSize.

  • You can add a vertex to a process line to make it one continuous line. For more information, see Line Edit Features and Add Vertex.

  • You can reverse the direction of flow arrows, enable and disable flow arrows, and add or erase flow arrows on the line. For more information, see Reverse Line and Disable or enable flow arrows.

  • Line tags move with the line when using the grip points. For more information, see Tags move automatically .

  • Enhanced the process lines in the following ways:

    • When you delete a line, the other lines mend at all breaks along those lines, and removes all flow arrows on the deleted line segment.

    • When you move a process line by grip point, the old location break mends, and a new break displays at the new location.

    • When you use the middle grip point on a process line, it moves the entire process line with the in-line components.

    • When you use the corner grip point on a process line, it moves the individual process line segments.

  • Enhanced valve insertion in the following ways:

    • When you move a valve by grip point from one line to another, the software mends the break at the insertion, and displays a new break at the new location.

    • When you erase a valve, the software mends the break at that location.

  • Enhanced reducer insertion in the following ways:

    • When you insert a reducer and assign the reduction size to the reduction side of the line, it prompts you to change the size of the components along that line. For more information, see Insert a reducer.

    • When you remove a reducer, the process line mends and the process line size changes to the non-reduction size for the entire line. For more information, see Delete a reducer.
