You must register the database server instance in SQL Server Management Studio on the database server computer and on each client computer that you plan to use for:

Administration tasks such a Project Management and creating or upgrading databases

Running the Interference Checking Service
Verify that Authentication is set to Windows Authentication.

Open Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.

Connect to your instance using the administrator login that you created during setup.

Select View > Registered Servers.

Under Database Engine, right-click Local Server Groups and select New Server Registration.
The system displays the New Server Registration dialog box.

On the General tab, enter the name of the server instance that you want to register.
or
Select a server from the Server name drop-down list.

Click Save.
