Create a comprehensive spring can on a pipe skewed in the vertical plane or in 3-dimensional space - CAESAR II - Help

  1. Select the element on which you want to install the spring can assembly.

  2. Click Spring Can with Friction Builder.

  3. Select Comprehensive as the Modeling Method, and then select an insulation type.

  4. Select the From Node or the To Node as the spring can assembly location.

  5. Define the node numbers and heights for the selected insulation type.

  6. Define the Coefficient of Friction, Mu.

  7. Click Create to create the spring can assembly as shown by the red dashed lines in the below figure.

  8. Rotate the rigid element from SL to the outside radius so that it is at a right angle to the pipe, as shown by the blue solid lines in the below figure.
