CAESAR II Version
13

CAESAR II supports all piping code editions supported in version 12 and later. For files created with software versions older than version 12, piping editions may be supported if they were also supported by version 12 or later. When you open a model file created with a previous version, you must consider how code editions will change if you save the file in the current version. In general:

  • If the software supports the code edition in your file, the code edition is not changed.

  • If the software does not support the code edition in your file, the code edition is updated to the earliest supported edition.

  • If the software also supports a later edition, you can manually update to the later edition after opening the file.

  • If you choose to open and save the file in the current software version, the file will no longer be compatible with the original software version.

From the Main Window

When you open an older model file from the Main Window, and then click Piping Input , CAESAR II displays a dialog with detailed information about the code edition statuses. You can cancel the dialog and cancel the process of opening the file if you want to create a backup of the job file before proceeding. The software returns to the Main Window.

From the Classic Piping Input Dialog

When you open an older model file from the Classic Piping Input Dialog, CAESAR II displays the same code edition status dialog. If you cancel the dialog and the file opening process, the software closes the Classic Piping Input Dialog and returns to the Main Window.
