HxGN EAM enables you to integrate with other software systems that you use to manage your business. The HxGN EAM system architecture provides the framework through which you can exchange, update, and share information between HxGN EAM and external software systems.

The system architecture consists of event tables, drivers, import/export triggers, code, XML (Extensible Markup Language) documents, and an Integration Server. To implement, you must synchronize your shared data and map the data between the XML documents, HxGN EAM, and external software applications. XML is a programming language used to identify structures in a document. For HxGN EAM, a document is a logical grouping of data that is sent to and from HxGN EAM to facilitate data exchange between systems.

HxGN EAM uses XML as part of the integration process. For outbound transactions, it converts HxGN EAM data into XML documents. The reverse is true for inbound transactions; were it converts the XML document into HxGN EAM data.

Before implementing HxGN EAM, you must consider the business transactions you want to integrate and understand the integration concepts for synchronizing data between HxGN EAM and external software applications.

After completing the HxGN EAM installation and synchronizing the data between the systems you wish to integrate, you can easily administer and manage its functions such as: setting up the system; setting up scheduled processes; viewing XML documents (e.g., requisitions and purchase orders); tracking and viewing status of integration transactions; managing scheduled tasks; modifying and viewing system status; managing drivers; viewing events; creating journal entries; defining general ledger processes; and defining general ledger references.
