EcoSys is an enterprise application with a proprietary EcoSys Engine at its core. The EcoSys Engine is a configurable, centralized business rules engine for user interaction, integration, security, and business process automation. It is the core platform for all data interaction in EcoSys, including: spreadsheets, forms, reports, charts, formulas, data transformations, file import/export, and Web Services API.

The EcoSys Engine brings together:

  • Scale of enterprise database

  • Speed of application server cache

  • Flexibility of user-defined business process

  • Efficiency of centralization

The diagram below illustrates the EcoSys Engine’s relationship to the application database and its bi-directional access points.

All integrations with EcoSys leverage the same platform as the EcoSys end-user views and functions, such as forms and reports, ensuring that all business rules and data validation processes are utilized for integrations.

Integrations with 3rd party systems can be performed in the following ways:

  1. EcoSys Web Services APIs.

  2. EcoSys Connect is a cloud-enabled middleware platform built to support integration with external systems. EcoSys Connect is a no-code solution with many features to make developing integrations easier, such as workflow automation, error handling, data transformations, data validation, migration tools, and job status dashboards.

  3. EcoSys Connectors run on top of EcoSys Connect and provide out-of-the-box solutions for integrating with systems such as Oracle Primavera P6 or SAP.

  4. Live Connectors provide the ability to view real-time, read-only data from external OData web services API’s.

  5. Front-end or batch-based file import/export (for example, Microsoft Excel, tab-delimited).
