Document filters convert proprietary document formats into a format that the indexing engine understands. Objects can be indexed only after a filter is set for their file types.
-
In the SmartPlant Foundation Desktop Client, click Find > Administration > File Type.
-
Right-click a file type and click Update on the shortcut menu.
-
In the FTR filter name box, select an appropriate filter for the file type.
-
FTR provides several filters for various file types. In most cases, you can use these filters directly. For more information about the filters, see FTR Document Filters.
-
To support search of texts in regional languages, such as Chinese, Japanese, and Korean, you must use a localized ftmf filter provided with FTR for relevant object types. The following are some examples.
