It might be hard to find a model file if there are many model files in your project. To make it easier, organize the model files into folders.

Create a folder

  1. On the Manage tab, click Add folder .

  2. In the Folder name box, type a unique name and then click Save.

You can also create subfolders

  1. Click Options adjacent to the folder name and select Create folder.

  2. In the Folder name box, type a unique name and then click Save.

    SHARED Tip You can create a subfolder with the same name under a different parent folder.

Add a model file to a folder

  1. On the Manage tab, click Upload .

  2. Click the Select a folder box and then select a folder to which you want to add the model file.

  3. Click Save.

  4. Choose how you want to upload the model files.

    To upload files

    Do this

    From your computer

    Drag model files or folder onto the Files panel or click Browse.

    -OR-

    If the project is connected to a common data environment (CDE), click Browse > My computer.

    From a common data environment (CDE)

    To use this method, you must first connect your project to a CDE. HxGN AEC Project Viewer supports integration with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Bricsys 24/7, and Procore- Docs.

    1.

    Click Browse and then select the CDE.

    2.

    Select the model files you want to upload and then click Import.

    SHARED Tip You can also import the model file via the Notifications panel. If your project is connected to a CDE, HxGN AEC Project Viewer notifies you whenever there is a new model file or version available for import. To import the file, click Import on the corresponding notification.

    Once the model file is imported, the Import button on the notification becomes disabled.

  5. Perform the necessary steps based on the file type.

    To upload this file type

    Do this

    IFC

    Click Upload.

    Revit

    1.

    Click Upload.

    2.

    Select the coordinate base and click Continue.

    You'll get a notification when the upload finishes.

You can also add model file directly to a specific folder

  1. Click Options adjacent to the folder name and select > Add model.

  2. Choose how you want to upload the model files.

    To upload files

    Do this

    From your computer

    Drag model files or folder onto the Files panel or click Browse.

    If the project is connected to a common data environment (CDE), click Browse > My computer.

Know about upload progress indicators.

Indicator

What it means

File is in queue.

File upload is in progress.

Red Text

File upload failed.

The folder has one or more files that failed to upload.

Move files or folders using drag and drop

  • Select and drag the file or folder to another folder where you want to move it.

  • To check the progress of model files uploaded into a folder, hover over the info icon info icon grey adjacent to the folder name.

  • Use Options adjacent to the folder name to rename or delete it, if necessary.
