In older versions of Cognos, in order to create a new report, one had to first launch Report Studio and choose a package. In Cognos Analytics, Report Studio has been replaced with Reporting. You create a new report right in the same browser/tab.

Click Advanced Reports Author from the EAM Menu.

From the left navigation pane, click New ( + icon ) and then select Report.

Select Blank template and click OK button.
Reporting only works in Internet Explorer and Chrome web browsers.
