The dispatching function can be performed on a shift-by-shift basis. Define shifts, and then associate employees and/or crews to the shift for a specified date range.
A shift parameter (i.e., click the Parameters icon on the new screen) can be populated to filter the list of available employees and available crews so that employees/crews assigned to other Shift(s) are not displayed for dispatching. By default, the shift parameter is not populated when dispatching, so employees/crews from any shift or no shift will be available. If shift is populated, then ONLY employees/crews on that shift and employees/crews that are not on any shift are available for dispatching.
-
The Days tab for Shifts applies to the crews associated to the shift in much the same way as it applies to the employees associated. If 8 hours are specified for a day, this means the crew will work 8 hours on that day (i.e., each employee on the crew will work for 8 hours).
-
Employees/crews that are not associated to any shift will not be displayed regardless of the shift parameter value.
-
Employee/crew must be on the shift for the dispatch date to be displayed for dispatch when no work order activities are selected. If work order activities are selected, then employees/crews must be on the shift for the entire duration of dispatch date + longest selected work order activity duration -1.
