HxGN EAM has several installation parameters to manage GIS configuration. The critical parameters are the ones which specify the services used for the rendering the map images (GISSERV) and those supporting geocoding (GISADDR, GISGEOSV) and buffering functions (GISSGPSRV). If using REST services, a buffering service is not needed. To display a GIS map in HxGN EAM that is searchable for specific equipment records the GISSERV must be populated with a valid map service. To activate searching by address and enabling buffering, enter a valid map geocoding service for GISADDR (REST services). If using SOAP services enter a valid geocoding service for GISADDR to enable address searching and a valid geoprocessing service for GISSGPSRV to enable buffering.
