Set up users with access to the system as members of user groups. After setting up new system users, associate them with specific organizations. You can edit users, as necessary. When the user logs in to the system, the default organization determines to what user group the user belongs for that system session. Keep in mind that users will be associated with one user group but can have responsibility for more than one organization in your system.
Example: Consider the two-hospital system which includes a physicians’ group of 25 medical offices. An HVAC technician is associated with the HVAC User Group and has system-wide responsibilities regarding HVAC. A maintenance mechanic from the Maintenance User Group has duties only at the physicians’ group’s 25 facilities. In this scenario, you would need to ensure that the HVAC technician has the three organizations (two hospitals and the physicians’ group) added to his list of organizations. The maintenance mechanic would only have the physicians group listed in his organization list. For both, you would need to select which organization is the default organization.
