On the Parts tab for Non-PO Receipts, the user can specify that a part is a held item by populating the Hold for Work Order–Activity field.
When the user populates the Hold for Work Order–Activity field:

The system sets the Bin field based on the Organization Option HELDBINS setting: Set the Bin field to required when Org Option HELDBINS is set to REQUIRED, to optional when it is set to OPTIONAL or cleared and protected when it is set to PROTECTED.

If the user clears the Hold for Work order–Activity fields, the Bin will be set back to Required.
