Within the HMS environment, hotels and other hospitality venues are tracked by property. When integrating HMS to EAM this property identification is not synchronized. As such, manual configuration will be required to align the HMS property with an EAM organization. For this integration, in EAM, the term Organization will be translated as Property.

If the EAM system is already in place, an existing organization can be used to map the HMS property. This is accomplished by setting the accounting entity of the EAM organization to the HMS property name. Alternately, a new organization can be created of the same name as the HMS property.

If the EAM organization is newly created, the accounting entity still must be populated and should be set to the same value as the HMS property.

For any organization created for the integration of EAM to HMS, the Common checkbox must be unchecked. This is because HMS does not have the concept of "common" organizations (i.e., properties). Therefore, in HMS, the Room property must always match the work order property. Since EAM work orders can only be created for "specific" organizations and the Room organization must match the work order organization before the work order can be transmitted to HMS, it follows that EAM can only use "specific" organizations to create equipment that will be integrated to HMS.

Additionally, the enterprise location (Enterprise Locations tab on Organization screen) for the EAM organization used for the integration to HMS should be set to the HMS property name. This will ensure the SyncMaintenanceOrder BOD that EAM sends for work orders carries a LocationID equal to the HMS property name.
