On the Linear References tab of the Classes screen, you can predefine linear reference records that will be copied to the equipment when the class is associated to that equipment. The fields on this tab are like those on the Linear References tab of the equipment screens. Not all are present, however. Rather than repeating the explanation of these fields, below are the relevant differences between the two tabs and the actions that are taken when the data is copied to the Linear References tab of the equipment.
This tab has the following important attributes:

Type - Value is copied to the equipment. The only options here are Linear Reference System and Related Part.

Part - Value is copied to the equipment. Can only be entered if Type is Related Part.

Condition - Value is copied to the equipment. Can only be entered if the selected part is tracked by condition.

Repeat Every Length - Value is copied to the equipment. If populated, the system will generate as many occurrences that fit in the length of the equipment.
The remaining list of fields is simply copied to the corresponding field on the Linear References tab of the equipment screen.

Not present on this tab are the following fields that will be populated when the class is associated to the equipment and the linear reference records are copied from the class to the equipment. The following values will be assigned:

From Point - Will be set to the Equipment Starting Point. In case Repeat Every Length is populated, the system will start with this value and create additional records in increments of Repeat Every Length for as long as they fit in the Equipment Length.

To Point - Will become the equipment length plus the Equipment Starting Point.

Date Effective - Will become the Commission Date of the equipment or if this date is still blank the system date.

Date Expired - Will become December 31st, 2099.

Sequence - System assigned sequence number if Repeat Every Length is populated on this screen.

Set ID - System assigned identification number if Repeat Every Length is populated on this screen.
