When field(s) are configured to act as a hyperlink in base EAM, those field(s) will appear like a hyperlink in the Digital Work view card (i.e., after selecting a record from the list view and going to the view mode).

In the example above, the Equipment, Department and Location fields have been configured as hyperlinks in base EAM. Hence the block text will be blue underlined and an icon on the top right corner of the block indicating that.

Touching on either of these ‘Touch Points’ will show the list of hyper-linked screens and/or reports for the field.

The example below shows the hyperlinks for the Equipment field:

The Equipment field on the work order is an EXCEPTION in the system. It will always behave like its configured to hyperlink, with an ‘Equipment’ drill-down option on the top of this hyperlink/drill-down window.

The Equipment option show above, is a ‘Drill-down’ since it will navigate to either the Asset/System/Location or Position screen (depending on the equipment type) and populate the Equipment value on the list view Dataspy and perform the search for the specific equipment.

All other hyperlinks for the rest of the fields (and other hyperlinks configured in base for the equipment field) will behave like a normal hyperlink, with a few exceptions in Digital Work:

  • The system will just navigate to the screen and run the Default Dataspy if specified in base EAM. From here on:

    • The user can manually query for the record (if the screen is a standard list-detail screen). Note: Destination screen mode will always be Query, even if it’s set to Insert.

    • Create a new record on the destination screen or Run the report (if the destination screen is a report)

    • Go back to the Source screen

If the field just has 1 hyperlink configured, the system will just navigate to that screen/report upon touching the ‘touch points’
