The PC installable package can be used for general purpose installations. This package includes a setup.exe program file. The setup.exe file is launched from a PC to install HxGN EAM Mobile onto a mobile device connected to the PC through ActiveSync. Each time this process is executed, HxGN EAM Mobile is completely installed or reinstalled. This process replaces the database file, which deletes all existing data. The PC installable package can be used to install HxGN EAM Mobile into the mobile device's main storage memory or onto a storage card.

After installing HxGN EAM Mobile on the server, install HxGN EAM Mobile on each mobile device.

  1. Connect the handheld device to the docking station.

  2. Insert the HxGN EAM Mobile CD into the proper drive.

  3. Select Start > Run from the Windows taskbar. Windows displays the Run dialog box.

    If you are installing from a drive other than D:, substitute that drive for D: in these instructions.

  4. Enter D: \SETUP\MAIN MEMORY\SETUP.EXE , and then click OK. Setup displays the first installation dialog box.

  5. Click Next. The system displays the next installation dialog box.

  6. Accept the terms in the license agreement, and then click Next. The system displays the next installation dialog box.

  7. Specify the User Name and Organization, and then click Next. The system displays the next installation dialog box.

  8. Click Next to install to the default folder location, or click Browse to install to a different folder. The system displays the next installation dialog box.

  9. Click Install. The system displays the next installation dialog box, starts installing the files on the system, and displays an Installing Applications confirmation message.

  10. Click Yes. The system installs Microsoft SQL Server® 2005 Mobile Edition, Microsoft .NET Compact Framework, and HxGN EAM Mobile, and then displays the Application Downloading Complete confirmation message.

    If you are using a Windows Mobile 5.0 device, the system indicates you must restart the mobile device to complete the installation. Click OK to restart the device or tap Cancel to continue the installation.

  11. Navigate through any prompted installation procedures on your mobile device, and then click OK. The system completes the installation and displays the last installation dialog box.

  12. Click Finish.
