Go to ArcCatalog.

Setup SDE connection in ArcCatalog (if it doesn't exist) for the enterprise database used to store GIS datasets. Once the SDE connection is established, then ‘Add Global IDs’ and ‘Register As Versioned’ on feature classes.

Right click on the feature class and select Manage -> Add Global IDs option.

Right click on the feature class and select Manage -> Register as Versioned option.

When you select Register as Versioned option, it will be asked to select an option "Register the selected objects with the option to move edits to base.". Keep this option unchecked and proceed.

Repeat these steps for all feature classes to include Global IDs and register data as versioned.
