With Service Code Validation set to SDM, you define the valid combinations per equipment. On the Equipment screen, you must first select the Service Delivery Matrix checkbox. Without this checkbox selected, you cannot populate the relevant Department, Supplier, Service Category, and Service Code combinations on the Service Delivery Matrix tab of the Equipment screens. Like Department Structure you can associate all four types to each other. You can pick any specific combination. Empty values are also considered part of a combination. If a (partial) combination is relevant for all departments, you can select the All Departments checkbox without having to create a record for every department. Similar checkboxes exist for suppliers, service categories, and service codes.

The Service Delivery Matrix of a parent equipment will also apply to the children of that parent but only if the following conditions exist:

  • No records exist on the Service Delivery Matrix tab of the child. If records do exist, they obviously can be used for selection, but they will replace anything that came from the parent.

  • The child equipment must still have the Service Delivery Matrix checkbox selected. If not selected the lookups for Supplier, Service Category, and Service Code on the Call Center screen will remain empty. The Department lookup is an exception and will show departments as usual.

With Service Code Validation set to SDM, the equipment that is selected on the service request determines the services that can be provided and by whom. You will find that you cannot enter any of these until you have selected the equipment first.
