Follow this workflow to silently install Comms on a client computer. The HxGN NetWorks Comms installation program checks for prerequisite software. If prerequisite software is missing from the computer, installation stops and a list of missing prerequisite software is displayed in the Application Event viewer.

  • To silently install Comms:

  1. Verify that you have the correct versions of prerequisite software installed and enabled on the computer.

  2. Install HxGN NetWorks Comms.

    1. If required, map a drive to the Comms deployment share.

    2. From the command line prompt, change the directory to the mapped drive and install specific Comms applications.

      For example, to install Comms applications at the default installation folder, %ProgramFiles%\Intergraph\FiberOpticWorks, type the following on the command line prompt:

      Setup.exe /s FiberOpticWorks /ni ACCEPT_EULA=1 ADDLOCAL=<HxGN NetWorks Comms application names> (see HxGN NetWorks Comms Application and Display Names)

      The ACCEPT_EULA is a required property to flag the end user license agreement. The default value is 0 meaning the EULA is not accepted. Value 1 means the user has read and accepted the EULA. The HxGN NetWorks Comms software is not installed until the value is 1.

      ENABLESELFREPAIR is an optional property that enables the HxGN NetWorks Comms self-repair facility. Occasionally, the self-repair facility has degraded performance. If you experience performance problems and have found no other explanation for these problems, it is recommended to set ENABLESELFREPAIR to 0 or disabled. The default value is 1 or enabled.

  • To silently install HxGN NetWorks Comms Web Services:

  1. Verify that you have the correct versions of prerequisite software installed and enabled on the computer.

  2. Install HxGN NetWorks Comms Web services:

    1. If required, map a drive to the HxGN NetWorks Comms deployment share.

    2. From the command line prompt, change the directory to the mapped drive and install specific HxGN NetWorks Comms web services.

  3. Type the following command on the command line prompt:

    Setup.exe /s FiberOpticWorksFiberServices /n ACCEPT_EULA=1 ADDLOCAL=HxGN HxGN NetWorks Comms application names>
