The interface must be installed and configured in both SDx and SAP.
The configuration can be done by sharing the information between SDx and SAP. It requires good coordination between SDx and SAP users who perform this activity.
-
Bi-directional communication on port 443 (it requires Information Technology (IT) support to setup the connection).
-
A sync requires Middleware setup:
-
An Application Programming Interface (API) Management software and SAP software for integration, and they must be configured to accept sync requests and responses in a defined format. For more information, see Sync process of SDx Connector for Plant Maintenance in Cloud infrastructure.
-
-
The Middleware must be able to:
-
Receive a sync request in Remote Function Call (RFC) format, and push it to SAP Business Application Programming Interfaces (BAPIs).
-
Receive a response, convert it to JavaScript Object Notation (JSON), and then push it to the SDx server as same as the session Token.
-
-
The API Management payload URL should support basic authentication (username and password). The password is encrypted in SDx for security reasons.
-
The API Destination is required in SDx for sync with Middleware.
