This functionality was modified in an update. For more information, see Loading documents and data (modified in an update).

You must define your target system to which to load the data before using Load Manager. For more information, see Define target systems.

The Load Manager is typically used to load items in bulk. When a large amount of structured data needs to be loaded, a load file can be used to speed up the process. The Load Manager is an alternative for the interactive create or update process. It uses the underlying Data Validator feature capabilities to load, validate, and export data. For more information about Data Validator, see How do I configure data loading and data exchange?

You can run a load job for the different types of objects based on their classification and configure the required properties or prompted values as dynamic display items in the load job form for each classification.

The load job is automatically placed on to the Loader workflow and the object is imported into a staging system, where it is validated and exported to a target system using the Data Validator. You can view your jobs and monitor their progress in the My load jobs page.

If you are a document controller or project engineer, you can use the Load Manager to load existing data such as documents, tags, assets, and models to your system when you are setting it up or when you have completed or finalized a project and you want to load the handover information.

If you are a business administrator or an SDx administrator, you can use the Load Manager to load configuration data to configure the structure of an SDx plant or project.

  • SDx administrators can load all the information that is applicable to all configurations on the system such as document types, tag types, organizations, disciplines, sites, and so on.

  • Business administrators (and SDx administrators) can use the Load Manager to configure an SDx plant or project. Typical load actions are related to plants, areas, units, locations, work packages and alternative grouping or breakdown objects like corrosion loops and so on.

Any user mapped to the SDx Administrator, or Business Administrator role can access the Load Manager functionality.
