What is an action pin?

An action pin is a markup element you can add to a markup layer to create a graphical locator that is linked to a newly created action.

As part of the Document Review workflow, you can create an action by adding an action pin to a markup layer using the annotations toolbar. This is a two-part process:

  • Place a specific image, called an action pin, on the file, and describe the needed action in a form.

  • The Web Client creates the action, which will appear in the To Do list of assigned users.

Action pins cannot be associated with actions created using the Actions tab on the Document Review page.

  1. Create a new markup layer or open an existing markup layer for edit using the Markup Layers Manager panel.

  2. Select Stamp Annotations from the toolbar:

  3. Select Action Pins MML_ActionPin from the Stamp Annotations toolbar.

  4. Select an action pin from the Action Pins panel, and click anywhere in the file to place it.

  5. Enter the required information in the New Outgoing Action form, and click Finish when you are done.

    • The markup file is automatically saved and a new outgoing action is created.

    • Click the action pin image to move or resize.

    • To delete an action pin, you must also delete the related outgoing action.
