SDx Projects provides a set of preconfigured collaboration work processes for the management of change, including the Quality Assurance (QA) Review. During a project, the external suppliers or contractors deliver multiple documents using the submittal process. The submittal documents are then routed for review by the Quality Assurance (QA) Review workflow, which allows your company's technical experts to immediately review any changes to delivered documentation. This ensures that critical changes to documentation receives the appropriate level of scrutiny.

When you work with concurrent engineering, documents are managed differently from objects. You can make changes to the working revision in the project level without impacting the supplied current revision signed off at the plant level. Each document detail or file change to the working revision in the project creates a new version, depending on the revision scheme and the command used. Finally, when the project is complete, the project document can be merged back to the plant.
The following image displays the basic concurrent engineering process to claim a single document to a project using the Revise command:
When you revise a document from the plant to a project:

The current revision in the plant is revised and claimed to the project level as a new working revision.

The current revision in the plant is marked as the source of a claim to a project.

The working revision in the project is marked as the result of a claim from the plant.

You can create new documents at the project level for use by the project, subject to access permissions. For more information on creating a document, see Create a document.

Documents with any related items are automatically attached to the working version, depending on their relationship configuration.
