What happens if a workflow step cannot be completed?

If you indicate that a step cannot be completed, the step disappears from your To Do List, and the workflow moves through the defined rejection path, which can be another workflow or another step in the same workflow.

  1. In the To Do List, select one or more steps, and select Actions > Unable to Complete.

  2. Type any details in the Unable to Complete box.

    • Comments are saved with the object and shared with the recipient of the next step.

    • Messages to the next step are saved with this step and shared with the recipients of the next step.

  3. Select Unable to Complete.
