HxGN SDx® is a web-based software that builds an as-built digital twin of the operating plant. The software provides a set of workflows designed explicitly for plant operations and maintenance and to allow owners and contractors to effectively manage engineering project planning and execution.

This guide includes documentation for the latest update release. For more information about which features are available in each update, refer to the HxGN SDx Release Bulletin.

How do I find out which version of software I'm using?

  1. Click Settings .

  2. Click the Web Client name under About to display the software version on the About page.

How do I download the videos to watch them offline?

  1. Click SDx Videos Videos.

  2. Select the video you want to download, and click the video title.

  3. Scroll down to see the download option .

What is SDx Operations?

Compliant with the CFIHOS international standard, SDx Operations contains functionality that will capture, organize, and link large volumes of facility information and provide web-based access to everyone who needs it.

Change management

  • Templated work processes support engineering changes in plants of any size. For example, you can manage the change to add a small bypass to larger projects.

Impact analysis

  • Identify the impact of a change and potential conflicts across asset information, tags, documents, and assets.

Work package management to support maintenance and inspection planning

  • Workflow management to support planning for maintenance and planning.

  • Review and approve work package content.

  • Add comments to drawings and documents, including work package specific markups and annotations.

What is SDx Projects?

SDx Projects is primarily a collaboration platform facilitating electronic quality assurance reviews between client and contractor.

Security

  • Supports the collaboration of multiple organizations within the same project

  • Allows only defined users to access projects

  • Ensures that data cannot be viewed or shared by other users without defining permissions to allow sharing

  • Limits access to sensitive documents within an organization. This access can be limited based on security codes

Document Planning

  • Supports planned, forecasted, and actual dates for accurate progress management

  • Master Document Register-based document planning process per collaborating organization

Review Plans

  • You can register for interest based on planned documents

  • Manage your personal review plan during the lifetime of the project

  • The initial review is defined by configurable system-defined rules

  • The type of review (either matrix-based or review plan-based) can be defined per project

QA Review

  • Pre-configured workflow-based process to review new documents submitted by external companies

  • Automatic distribution to recipients based on subscriptions or a matrix

  • Supports the full life cycle of document revisions

  • Helpful user experience to provide an overview of all given document feedback, minimizing mouse clicks and screen switches

Actions

  • A pre-configured workflow-based process to create actions for internal and external users

  • Supports documents, external files, videos, and so on to support the definition of the action

  • Provides full traceability from action creation to its finalization

  • Convenient user experience for a clear action definition, minimizing mouse clicks and screen switches

Technical Queries

  • Provides a pre-configured workflow-based process to create technical queries and requests for information for internal and external users

  • Supports documents, external files, videos, and so on to support the definition of the technical query

  • Supports multiple revisions when questions cannot be answered in a single pass

Transmittal

  • Pre-configured workflow-based process to create transmittals

  • Supported by rules to verify the document can be shared and transmitted based on status and security

SDx users access the software through web browsers. We are working to make business administration, data capture configuration, and data validation configuration available in SDx. Until these features are available, some users need access to the Desktop Client for administration of SDx.
