This functionality was removed in Update 23. From Update 23, Smart API Manager is the default authorization server provided with HxGN SDx. The following applies if you are setting up groups using a version of the software before Update 23.

A group defines a set of users, or identities, who have permission to access a Smart API. The groups are defined in the identity provider but must be registered in Smart API Manager. Once registered, users or identities are added to the group, and the group is given access to the Smart API by the Web Client.
