HxGN SDx Project As-Built (PAB) environments cannot utilize the retired WebGL viewer. For the latest information, see Configure WebGL renditions.

The following applies if you are using a version of the software after Update 56.

The following steps are required for standalone HxGN SDx environments. If you do not enable the WebGL viewer, your environment utilizes the default Graphic View Control (GVC) viewer. For more information, see Enable the Graphic View Control (GVC).

To enable the WebGL viewer, you must do the following:

  1. Locate the Web Client settings.json file. For example:

    C:\SDx Server Files\WebClient_Sites\[WebClient]\settings.json

  2. Set the VIEWER_USE_GOVIEW setting to true.

  3. Recycle the application pools for your site.

The following applies if you are using a version of the software between Update 35 and Update 56.

The WebGL is automatically enabled for HxGN SDx environments. To enable the GVC, see Enable the Graphic View Control (GVC) (modified in an update).

The following applies if you are using a version of the software before Update 35.

WebGL viewer files are required for viewing 2D drawings (.igr, .pid, .sma, .spe, .sha, and .zyq), and Smart 3D models (.zvf and .vue) in Hexagon web-based portal applications, such as the Web Client. 2D WebGL viewer files (.vecz) are required for 2D drawings and 3D WebGL viewer files (.binz) are required for Smart 3D models. These viewer files can be generated automatically when the drawing file is published or stored in the database.
