Enable the PDFTron viewer (modified in an update) - HxGN SDx - HxGN SDx - Reference - Hexagon

The following applies if you are using a version of the software prior to Update 50. For the latest information, see Enable the view and markup control.

PDFTron is the view control utilized for View and Markup of non-Hexagon file formats. PDFTron is also used for generating renditions.

To enable PDFTron’s features for View and Markup:

1. Locate the Web Client settings.js file. For example:

   [drive]\SDx Server Files\WebClient_Sites\[SiteName]\settings.js

2. Edit the following settings:

   Setting	Value
   pdftronViewMarkupEnabled	true
   pdftronCompareEnabled This setting is enabled out-of-the-box in Update 26 and later.	true

To enable rendition generation using PDFTron:

This must be enabled in both configuration files to avoid an unsupported hybrid environment where different technologies are used to generate and view renditions.

1. Locate the following files:

   • The Web Client settings.js file, for example: [drive]\SDx Server Files\WebClient_Sites\[SiteName]\settings.js

   • The SPFAppServer.config file, for example: [drive]\SDx Server Files\Web_Sites\[SiteName]\SPFConfigService\SPFSharedSettings\SPFAppServer.config

2. Edit the following setting in both files:

   PDFTronRenderingEnabled	True
