  1. In Server Manager, right-click the site you want to delete from the SDx Sites node in the tree view.

  2. Select the Delete command from the pop-up menu.

SHARED Tip You can also access the Delete command in Server Manager by selecting the site in the tree view and clicking Edit > Delete or by clicking on the toolbar.

  3. Click Yes in the confirmation window.

  4. If the site uses Smart API Manager as the authorization server, you are prompted for the Smart API Manager administrator user name and password.

These credentials are needed to connect to the Smart API Manager server to delete the associated service and identity provider for the site you are deleting. If you are deleting a Web Client site, the credentials are used to delete the associated client.

  • The site is removed from Server Manager along with the related virtual directories, application pools, and local users. When you delete a site, no data is removed from the associated database. If you need to remove the data or schema, this must be done manually. Also, the web site files under Server Files are not deleted.

  • If you are using SAM as your authorization server, deleting a site also deletes the integration clients and user in SAM.

What manual steps are required to delete a site?

When you want to delete a site, for example if you have created a test site that you no longer need, in addition to the steps carried out in Server Manager, there are also some manual steps required. The following provides a summary of all the steps required to delete a site.

  1. Delete your Web Client site(s) using Server Manager. For more information, see Delete a Web Client site.

  2. Delete the main site using Server Manager. For more information, see Delete a site.

  3. If Smart API Manager wasn't used as the authorization server, delete any entries created on your authorization server.

If your site did use Smart API Manager as the authorization server, the associated service and identity provider for the site are automatically deleted, along with the Web Client site's associated client.

  4. Delete the relevant subfolders from Web_Sites and WebClient_Sites in the server root folder.

  5. Delete any trace logs. The default location is the TraceLogs folder in the server root folder.

  6. Delete the vaults. The default location is the FTP_Vaults folder in the server root folder.

  7. Remove any local users and user groups created during site setup.

  8. Archive and delete the database.

  9. Remove any manually created Desktop Client connections by editing the serverconnections.xml file.
