First, you need to create a rule set

  1. On the left bar, click Smart Mapping > 5D Mapping .

  2. On the Rule definition tab, select a mapping type.

  3. To create a rule set, click Add.

  4. Type a name for the rule set and save.

Can I modify an existing rule set instead of creating one from scratch?

Yes, you can.

  1. On the Rule definition tab, select a mapping type.

  2. Select a rule set from the list, and then click Save as.

  3. Type a name for the rule set.

  4. Make necessary changes to the rule set and click Save.

Then, add rules to the rule set

  1. Select the rule set to which you want to add rules.

  2. Click Add.

  3. To add a condition, select the properties that you want to map.

  4. Continue to add more conditions as necessary.

How do I delete a rule?

From Rule definition tab

  1. On the Rule definition tab, select a mapping type.

  2. Select the rule set to which you want to delete rules.

  3. Select the rule, and then click Options > Delete.

From Manage Rule Sets tab

  1. On the Rule definition tab, select a mapping type.

  2. Click Options > Manage rule sets.

  3. Select the rule, and then click Options > Delete.

Can I use the classification structure name as the mapping criteria?

Yes, you can. When you're adding conditions to the rule, you can select the structure name from the properties list.

If necessary, rename the rule set

  1. On the Rule definition tab, select a mapping type.

  2. Click Options > Manage rule sets.

  3. Select the rule set you want to rename.

  4. Click Options > Rename.

  5. Type a new name for the rule set, and then save the rule set.

How do I view the details of a rule set?

  1. On the Rule definition tab, select a mapping type.

  2. Click Options > Manage rule sets.

  3. Select the rule set for which you want to view the details, and then click Options > Details.

How do I analyse a rule in the Manage rule sets tab?

  1. On the Rule definition tab, select a mapping type.

  2. Click Options > Manage rule sets.

  3. Select the rule set for which you want to analyse the rule, and then click Options > Analyse.

Can I see the rules and conditions in multiple rule sets at a time?

Yes, you can.

  1. On the Rule definition tab, select a mapping type.

  2. Click Options > Manage rule sets.

  3. Select the rule sets for which you want to view the conditions.

  4. Expand the list to see the rules and conditions in the rule sets.

What does the red flag next to the rule name indicate?

The red flag indicates a change in the conditions or properties of a rule. This can happen when a work package associated with the classification structure in Primavera P6, or a cost item associated with the classification structure in EcoSys is removed or assigned to a different classification structure.

To remove the red flag

  1. On the Manage rule sets panel, click back arrow to go to the Rule definition tab and select the mapping type.

  2. From the list, select the rule set to which the flagged rule belongs to.

  3. Locate the rule and then click Analyse.

    The red flag next to that rule is cleared.

Can you filter the flagged rules and rule sets?

Yes, you can.

  1. On the Rule definition tab, select a mapping type.

  2. Click Options > Manage rule sets.

  3. Click the Filter Filter-new next to the Search box.

  4. Select the Flagged rules checkbox.

    The rule sets and rules that are flagged as a result of some data or rule modification are displayed.
