One way you can protect systems from malicious attacks or accidental settings is to restrict access and control to authorized individuals based on their role and function. Integrity allows you to define users and groups through the Users and Groups window in the Admin Utility. You can also use Windows users and groups from the Active Directory, which can simplify user and group management. Through the Admin Utility, you can assign roles, which give permissions for users to perform a specific set of tasks.

Integrity also allows you to define custom roles, which you can use to restrict access to sets of assets. In addition, you can use Configuration Manager to define your asset hierarchy, and then assign access to assets using that hierarchy. Integrity provides the flexibility you need to grant or deny individual users or groups of users access to sensitive areas. With the built-in roles, you can also limit which tasks can be performed on the sets of assets you define. For more information about roles, users, and groups, see Configuring Users and Groups†on page 28.
