To fully categorize the assets to be managed within a baseline, you may need to create groups of baseline types, and then assign a hierarchical order to the baseline types in each group. When you define a hierarchical order, the baseline types higher in the hierarchy include the baseline assets lower in the hierarchy.

To define baseline type groups and a hierarchical order:

  1. Open the Asset Model Development Kit (AMDK) on the Integrity server. To open the AMDK, run the following file:

    InstallPath\DataCollector\AMDK.exe

  2. Select [PAS Baselines] in the Asset Model field.

  3. Click Baselines > Baseline Type Definition. The Baseline Type Definition window is displayed.

  4. Click the Edit Hierarchical Order button next to the Baseline Type field. The Edit Hierarchical Order window is displayed.

The list on the left includes any defined groups of baseline types and all baseline types not included in a group. When you select a group in the left list, the baseline types included in that group are displayed in hierarchical order in the right pane.

  5. If you want to create a group of baseline types, select the baseline types in the left list, and then click Group. Then, adjust the hierarchical order in the right list.

  6. If you want to change the hierarchical order of baseline types in a group, complete the following steps:

    1. Select the group of baseline types in the left list.

    2. Select a baseline type in the right list, and then click the up and down arrow buttons to reorder the hierarchical list.

The baseline types higher in the list include the baseline assets lower in the list. For example, in the previous figure the Medium Risk baseline type includes the Low Risk, and the High Risk baseline type includes both the Medium Risk and the Low Risk.

  7. Click Save.
