Baseline versions are represented by integers that are incremented for each new version. You can modify only the latest version of a baseline. When you create a new version of a baseline, Integrity performs the following actions:

  • Locks the current version of the baseline. This version can no longer be modified.

  • Duplicates the current baseline and gives it the next version number. This version is now the latest version of the baseline and it can be modified as needed.

The hierarchy of baselines contains only the current (unlocked) version of each baseline. When you create a new version of a baseline, the new baseline automatically replaces the previous baseline in the hierarchy.

Each baseline asset is named using the following naming convention:

  • Prefix: The prefix (Baseline -) is automatically generated.

  • Root name: This user-configurable field of the baseline name is usually the name of the source asset when there is a one-to-one relationship between a source asset and the baseline asset.

  • Suffix: The suffix (version) is automatically generated. The version number is in parentheses.

The following examples illustrate the baseline naming convention:

  • Baseline - LCN1 (0006)

  • Baseline - LCN1 Compliance (0025)
