Before you open the Integrated Reference File Environment, you need a reference file list. Follow the procedures below to create, edit, and set the active reference file list.

Create a new reference file list

The Create command is used to create a new reference file list object that specifies the files used as the reference file for each of the tools.

  1. Click Reference file list > Create in the Reference File Table.

  2. Enter a name in the Name field. For example, enter ReferenceFileList01.

  3. Enter a description for the reference file list in the Description field.

  4. In the Tools/Files section, click the empty cell next to the Schema cell.

  5. Click the Browse button next to the Schema field below the table.

  6. Browse to the schema file, and click Open.

  7. Repeat steps these for each tool map file that you want to reference, and click OK.

Edit an existing reference file list

The Edit command allows you to edit the active reference file list object. You can use this command to modify the path of the reference files used in the active list.

  1. Click Reference file list > Edit in the Reference File Table.

  2. Click on a file name in the Reference Filename column. For example, click on the file name for the SmartPlant P&ID row.

  3. Click the Browse button next to the SmartPlant P&ID box.

  4. Browse to the correct file, and click Open.

  5. Click OK.

Set the active reference file list

The Set active command allows you to set the active reference file list object. You can use this command to switch between reference files.

set-active-db

  1. Click Reference file list > Set active in the Reference File Table.

  2. Select a reference file list in the Select Reference File List dialog box, and click OK.
