Open the Editor view. For more information, see Create New Objects and Relationships in the Schema.
-
Double-click UoMListType in the Create tree.
-
In the New Unit of Measure List dialog box, type a name and description for the new UoM list.
-
Beside the Conditions list box, click , and select the enumerated list that contains the possible conditions for a property scoped by this unit of measure list, if one exists. For example, the pressure unit of measure list uses a conditions list that identifies whether the pressure value is absolute or gauge.
-
To add a UoM to the list, click New.
-
In the Short description box, type the name of the UoM.
-
In the A conversion factor and B conversion factor boxes, provide the values necessary to convert a value in this unit of measure to the SI unit of measure for this unit of measure list. The conversion uses the following syntax: y = Ax + B, where y is the value in this unit of measure and x is the value in SI units.
For example, the SI for unit of length is meters. For converting centimeters to meters, the A value is 100, and the B value is 0.
-
If this UoM is the default SI UoM for the list, select Yes in the Is default SI unit of measure? list.
-
Each unit of measure list must have one unit of measure designated as the SI unit.
-
The unit of measure designated as the SI unit must haven a value of 1 for the A conversion factor and a value of 0 for the B conversion factor.
-
-
To add addition UoMs to the list, repeat steps 5-9.
To test the conversion for UoMs in the list, click Test. To be able to test conversions for the list, you must specify that one of the UoMs is the default SI UoM for the list.
