The following list provides the steps to configure Cyber Integrity to enable the patch management features. This checklist guides you through the sections of this document related to these configuration tasks.

  1. To implement patch management for your IT assets, set up the Recon asset model and define one or more data owners for the Recon data. For more information, see the Recon Implementation Guide.

  2. Configure Cyber Integrity to get the latest Microsoft patch information on a scheduled basis. This process imports the latest PAS Patch Management asset model as scheduled. For more information, see Automating Patch Management Information Updates.

  3. Use the system-wide settings to identify who should be notified when the import of the latest vulnerability and patch information does not occur as expected. For more information, see Vulnerability Management.

  4. Identify one or more Recon data owners to use for Patch Management assessments. For more information, see Configuring the Patch Management Assessment.

  5. Schedule the patch assessment to run following each import of Recon data. For more information, see Scheduling the Patch Management Assessment.

  6. Make sure the data imports have completed at least once, and then verify patch management information is available in Cyber Integrity. For more information, see Verifying Patch Management Information.

  7. Define the workflows and checklists for patch management. Then, specify the settings to connect the workflows to user actions and buttons. For more information, see Configuring Patch Management Workflows.

After you have implemented patch management, users can use the windows and workflows to assess and remediate or mitigate potential issues.

For more information about using the patch management features, see Understanding Patch Management.
