In order for the software to assign the geometry in your symbol to the correct parts of the collar, you must name each geometric element in the symbol.
-
All edges must be named according to the naming conventions in Edge Names.
-
Collar edges that are connected to the profile are given the name of the corresponding profile edge.
-
On the Collar Symbols toolbar, click Name Collar Geometry to display the Name Edges of Clip/Collar Contour dialog box. By default, Representation Geometry Only is selected, so only geometry in the collar symbol representation will be shown.
-
In the Attribute name box, choose EdgeName.
-
Select a Geometry Type in the table. The corresponding graphical line highlights in the symbol.
-
In the Value box, select the appropriate edge name. In this example, the left side of the collar is chosen to correspond with the name Web_Right.
-
Click Apply.
-
Repeat until all edges of the collar are named.
-
Click OK.
Check that profile, slot, and base plane curve edge names were properly copied in with the geometry. Clear Represent Geometry Only in the Name Edges of Clip/Collar Contour dialog box to see all edges names, and add edge names if needed.
