The images used in the steps below show NVIDIA card settings, which represent just one type of card that can be used. These images are intended to be used only as examples. The settings for your graphics card may differ from those shown in the steps below.

  1. Select Start > Control Panel.

  2. Select Appearance and Personalization > Display Settings.

  3. Click Advanced Settings.

  4. Click the Troubleshoot tab.

    If your driver does not allow changes (as shown in the above image), you may have to contact your video card manufacturer for instructions on turning on/off hardware acceleration.

  5. If available, click Change settings.

  6. Move the Hardware acceleration slider bar to Full.

  7. Click OK to save edits and exit the dialog box. Click OK again to exit the Display Settings dialog box.
