Open document limit
Specifies the maximum number of drawings you can open during your session. Typing 0 in the text box allows you to open an unlimited number of drawings. Opening multiple drawings enables you to ensure that adjacent drawings are labeled clearly. You can also copy and paste between drawings.
In the Drawings task, double-click a non-Drawings by Rule (DBR) drawing to open it as a read-only drawing in the Detail View. You cannot open DBR drawings in this view. DBR drawings open for editing in the SmartSketch Drawing Editor.
-
The drawings must be the same type (Composed, Volume, DBR, and so forth).
-
You must have Read or Write permissions to open a drawing.
-
You cannot edit a drawing that is locked by another user.
-
The first drawing you select opens as read/write in the SmartSketch Drawing Editor. Subsequently opened drawings open in the same SmartSketch Drawing Editor window as read-only.
-
You can save a read/write drawing to the database.
-
You can save read-only drawings locally.
-
DBR drawings enable you to switch permissions using the View Explorer. If you switch a read-only DBR drawing to read/write, the software prompts you to save the current read/write drawing. The software reopens both drawings with the new permissions. The read/write drawing opens as a read-only drawing, and the read-only drawing opens as a read/write drawing.
-
Use the Command Preferences to specify whether a drawing opens for editing with or without a backup.
