Select and hold the Place Shape Command on the vertical toolbar to display the Shapes palette.
If a designed equipment object or existing shape has not been selected, select one in a graphic view or in the Workspace Explorer. This example uses an electrical panel.

On the Shapes palette, select a shape to display the Shape Properties Dialog. This example uses Rectangular Solid . An image of the selected solid displays.

On the Occurrence Tab (Shape Properties Dialog), select Display Aspect and select one or more aspects from the list.
You can select Format > View and change the Render Selected Aspects option in the Format View dialog to display the aspect in the active graphic view.

Specify a name and the appropriate geometric dimensions.

Select OK to return to the model. A preview of the new shape displays.

Select a Positioning Relationship on the Place Shape Ribbon. This example uses Mate.

Select Shape Reference . Select the surface on the shape to be used for positioning.

Define an Offset between the shape surface and the designed equipment reference. This example places the shape directly on the equipment surface and uses an offset of 0.

Select Second Part Reference . Select a surface, edge, or point on the designed equipment object to place the shape. This example places the new shape on the back surface of the existing electrical panel.
