Continuing from Exercise B: Add Custom Schema Objects to the SDx Common Schema, you will add the Process_Code custom property to the catalog schema and the ToolMap file.

About this Exercise

Use the Schema Management module in the Smart Engineering Manager (SEM) Web Client to change the SIOMap file and the Smart 3D Catalog schema.

Before You Begin

Before starting the exercise:

  • Obtain the site database server, site database name, and catalog database name to use for your SDx server.

  • Make sure HxGN SDx Web Client API and Smart 3D API applications are configured.

  • Make sure Smart Engineering Manager (SEM) Web Client with the Schema Module is loaded on your system.

Steps

  1. Launch the Smart Engineering Manager Web Client by entering the URL with the syntax: https://machinename.domain.com/SEM3.0/ in your web browser.

  2. Enter your credentials to sign in.

  3. On the Smart Engineering Manager Sites page, select the required site. Examples sites are shown below.

  4. On the Choose Plant dialog, select the required plant from the list of available plants for the selected site, and then click OK.

    If the selected plant has any associated applications, they are listed under the APPLICATIONS tab.

  5. Click Options on the right side of the Smart 3D row, and then click Open in Schema Management.

  6. On Schema Management, select Integrated.

  7. On the side menu, select Properties to list all the custom properties on the Common schema (Source) side.

  8. Check the box for the Process_Code property that is in the PipeRun class definition on the Source side

  9. At the top of the menu, click LOAD to see the properties for all the PipeRun mapped class definitions on the target side.

  10. Click COMPARE to compare all properties between the source and target entities.

    When the Smart Engineering Manager Web Client completes the comparison process, it displays a notification.

  11. Review the comparison results for all unmapped properties on the Target side. By default, the filter is set to Unmapped.

  12. Click Options , and then click Preview Automatic Mapping.

    When the Smart Engineering Manager Web Client completes the comparison process, it displays a notification similar to the one below.

  13. Set the Filter to Mapped.

  14. Review the automatic mapping results on the Target side.

  15. Click Map to create and map the Process_Code custom property on the Smart 3D schema.

  16. Click YES at the prompt to update the mapping.

    The software displays a notification upon completion of the automatic mapping process.

  17. Review the results.

  18. Log out of Smart Engineering Manager Web Client.

  19. Now that the custom property is in the Common schema, open your Smart 3D session and enter a value for Process_Code. The Intergraph Smart 3D Share Service picks up and sends the value to SDx.
