You start interference checking using one of the following methods:
Server-based interference checking is processed on a dedicated server and runs continuously. To monitor interferences, you must install the Database Interference Detection Service option on the same computer where the Project Management option is installed. While working in a Global Workshare environment, you can only run and monitor IFC status from the Host location.
Interactive interference checking only works within the current session. Start interactive interference checking by clicking Tools > Check Interference Command. This action invokes the Check Interference Ribbon, which provides all the tools required for setting up and running the local interference checking process.
The Check Interference Command is not available in the following tasks:
