Sets options that control how key point and control point notes display on the isometric drawing.

Open the grid, and then define the attributes listed below as needed.

  • Part Type identifies the type of component to which the note applies. Available component types are Instrument, Pipe, Pipe-Component, Pipe-Support, RPad, Specialty, and Valve.

  • Purpose indicates the reason for associating the note with the component. The items that display in this list are defined on the NotePurpose sheet in the AllCodeLists.xls workbook. For more information, see the Smart 3D Reference Data Help.

  • Keypoint indicates the specific location on the pipe or component to which the note is associated. The setting that you specify determines where on the component the note leader line points. Select from the following: Any, AnyKeyPoint, ControlPoint, or one of the listed key points (KeyPoint1, KeyPoint2, and so forth)

  • Message Enclosure indicates the enclosure shape Isogen uses to contain the note that it outputs on the isometric drawing. Select one of the enclosure shape settings (Message, Message-Circle, Message-Diamond, Message-Pointed, Message-Round, Message-Square, Message-Triangle), or select Suppress to suppress the output of a control point Fabrication note.

  • Only control points that are placed on the centerline of pipe and parts appear on the isomeric drawing.

  • For elbows and turns, the centerline can be the arc centerline or the Isogen centerline (the lines collinear to the ends). Because Isogen can only display notes on elbows and turns on the Isogen centerline, the software automatically translates any control points on the arc centerline to the Isogen centerline.

  • You can dimension control point messages on pipe and elbow by selecting Show Dimension on the Control Point Properties dialog box. For more information, see Control Point in the Common Help.
