Drawing labels provide information about the objects inside a drawing view, such as properties from a database report, text, or graphics (such as a north arrow). The following workflow demonstrates how to create a label for isometric extraction to show demolished Smart Interop Objects with revision clouds.

  1. In Catalog, click Tools > Define Label to open the Define Label Dialog.

  2. Select New COM Label to open the Label Editor Dialog.

  3. Type a name in the Name box. For example, type Label for demolished Smart Interop Objects.

  4. Optionally, type a description in the Description box.

  5. If required, select Name in the Properties grid, and then click Remove ICON Remove.

  6. Click Add to open the Select Properties dialog so that you can specify the object type and the properties to include.

  7. Click More in the Object type used as the basis for the property identification list.

The Select Object Type dialog opens and displays the Smart 3D hierarchy.

  8. Select the object type. In the example, Piping is selected.

  9. Click OK to close the dialog and return to the Select Properties dialog.

  10. Set Display properties in this category to Standard, and then select Is Demolished in the list of property names.

  11. Click OK to close the dialog and return to the Label Editor.

  12. Select Is Demolished in the Properties grid, and then click Insert a field to layout .

The Label Editor inserts <F>Is Demolished</F> in the Label Text window.

  13. Delete <F>Is Demolished</F>, and type DEMOLISHED.

  14. Select the typed text in the Label Text window, and then click Block Definition to open the Block dialog.

  15. Select Is Demolished in the Property list, select = in the Operator list, and set the Value to True.

  16. Click OK to close the dialog , and then click OK to create the label and close the Label Editor.

  • You can use this label to show demolished Smart Interop Objects with revision clouds on the isometric drawing. Use Isogen Configuration to map the style Revision Number as shown in the example below.

When you extract the isometirc drawing, the demolished objects are shown within revision clouds.

  • Additional information about the Label Editor Dialog is available in the Drawings and Reports Reference Data Help.
